What Readers Are Saying
It was a fun movie, but a bit over the top.
Disclaim and Disclose is a non-fiction piece that's more realistic and homegrown.
From rags to riches to rags, with jail time and craziness in between.
Could this guy be like a real-life Gordon Gekko?
As someone with a masters in info systems and a background in the equities markets, I couldn't help but be drawn into a story purporting to be a true-life account of someone who was on top of the world trying to make an honest living, only to get screwed by his friend/co-worker.
The narrative spins out of control emotionally, with an alleged cocaine money laundering scheme, ending up with him in jail with Hasidic Jews and then tossed back into reality/life with a felony on his record.
WTF?! I had to read about this wild ride. I was in!
The craziest thing is, this dude didn't even work for any type of Wall Street brokerage firm.
He did this all on his own.
That's what sets this story apart from all the other Wall Street tales.
Most of the others involve someone already at a large brokerage firm, not somebody that just started from home on the couch!
I read this book in two days, nonstop. I couldn't put it down.
It’s a roller-coaster ride of living the high life, with no worries, loads of money at your disposal, and how things can go so wrong, so fast, and end up with nothing.
It truly shows how not being in the right state of mind can eventually lead to your demise.
They say nice guys finish last.
Well, that might be true given this story.
It’s more than just a piece of entertainment; it’s something else: a story to make you gasp and cringe, and smile and laugh out loud.
I loved it.
I love that the audiobook is narrated by the author because he really brings his own emotions of his story to the fore. I also like that he was able to change his voice for the various characters in his life. It also helps that I loved the New York accent.
Once I finished the book, I realised it's a story of resilience and I really hope things look up for Brad and that this is made into a movie or series.
I was given this free review copy of the audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
